Juneau Jazz & Classics' mission is to provide a rich musical experience to music lovers in Juneau, the remote towns of Southeast Alaska, and the entire state. The residents of these relatively isolated communities have few opportunities to experience first-class jazz and classical music performed live in their own, intimate settings. Jazz & Classics provides such an experience. 

The festival is designed to teach, as well as to enrich; to serve both those who can afford to purchase tickets and those who cannot; to inspire and educate young musicians; to entertain music lovers of all ages; and to create a musical event that will attract visitors to our community.

Specifically, our goals are to:

• Select musicians of the highest caliber;
• Provide a catalyst for local musicians to achieve greater skills and musical understanding through high-quality concerts and stimulating workshops;
• Provide an opportunity for music lovers to hear high-quality concerts, and to stimulate appreciation for and awareness of the arts and music;
• Work with the Juneau School District to augment the music programs in the schools, fostering a love of music in young listeners and encouraging young musicians;
• Make our festival nationally recognized as a major cultural attraction for the benefit of our community and Southeast Alaska as a whole, including businesses, individuals, and other groups; to make Juneau and Southeast vibrant, exciting, and financially alive.
