Covid-19 precautions for the May 2021 Festival

Updated May 27, 2021

Juneau Jazz & Classics takes audience and musician safety seriously. We can assure you that our concerts will meet or exceed local and state requirements and that they will also comply with the rules in force at our host venues.

We will update this page as conditions change. The City and Borough of Juneau is currently at Risk Level 1b.

The following general rules apply to all our concerts:

  • Please do not attend if you are experiencing signs or symptoms of Covid-19 or if you have recently been exposed to anyone who has.

  • Masks are required indoors for adults and children over 2 years of age, unless you have a condition that prevents mask usage, while entering, exiting, and moving around the buildings. If you are fully vaccinated, you may remove your mask while seated. Both masks and hand sanitizer will be freely available to anyone who needs them. Outdoors, please wear a mask if you are unvaccinated and cannot maintain 6 ft of distance from those outside your bubble.

  • You must remain in your family group or pod, at least six feet from other groups or individuals. JJ&C volunteers will be monitoring the audience; you may be asked to increase the distance between your group and others.

In addition, the following conditions apply:

Outdoor concerts: (Venues include Pioneer Pavilion at Savikko Park in Douglas and Project Playground at Twin Lakes.) There are no limits on the number of attendees; however, please be aware that the fluid nature of a free outdoor event could prevent contact tracing. Attend at your own risk.

Indoor concerts: (Venues include Resurrection Lutheran Church, Chapel by the Lake, and the Sealaska Heritage Institute Clan House.) The number of attendees will be limited by the capacity of the venue taking social distancing into account. In the unlikely event that an exposure occurs, the list of ticket purchasers will be used for contact tracing. Attend at your own risk.

We appreciate your cooperation with our policies. We look forward to safely sharing live music with you again!
