
Job Title: Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival Assistant

Job Overview: We are seeking a Festival Assistant to support our upcoming Fall Festival which runs Oct 2-7. This is a flexible, on-call position where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various festival activities. You'll be a vital part of our core team, helping creatively solve logistical challenges that may arise unexpectedly during the week. The following is a list of potential duties during the week.
Key Responsibilities:

Transportation:
-
Conduct early morning and/or late-night airport runs to assist artists and special guests.

Transport food supplies to festival locations as needed.

Distribution and Promotion:

Pick up and drop off flyers to schools, organizations, and local businesses to promote the festival.

Attend pop-up concerts, set up chairs, and distribute flyers to attendees.

Administration:

Maintain a headcount spreadsheet for various festival activities and report back to festival organizers.

On-call Assistance:

Be available on an on-call schedule, ensuring you are within an hour of the festival locations during daytime hours.

Provide last-minute assistance and support as needed, coordinating closely with Executive Director Sandy Fortier and Operations Assistant Rachel Disney.

Act as a last-minute volunteer fill-in for various festival roles, stepping in when required to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

Must have reliable transportation (mileage will be reimbursed).

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and schedules.

Enthusiasm for the festival atmosphere and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure its success.
Note: This position may have periods with little or nothing to do, but it is essential to be prepared for the possibility of a sudden surge in responsibilities, emphasizing the on-call nature of the job.
Compensation:

$500 with mileage reimbursement.
