Operations Assistant
Position Summary
Juneau Jazz & Classics, a nonprofit performing arts organization in Juneau, AK, seeks an Operations Assistant to facilitate event planning and logistics as well as provide administrative support for the annual business activities of the organization.
This is a part-time, (around 16 hours per week and up to 30 hours per week during the Festivals) year-round job with a flexible schedule. It is a remote work position with in-person work during the festivals and events that may be added throughout the year. The position reports to the Executive Director. The position pays $24/hr. Duties will be assigned with respect for the specific strengths of the successful candidate. The job may evolve over time. The duties may include, but are not limited to, tasks on the following lists:
Operations related duties:
Keep licenses and state and federal reports up to date
Check mail, pay bills, deposit checks, work with the bookkeeper
Answer the phone and forward phone calls
Write, coordinate, and send monthly enewsletters
Prep printed materials for board meetings
Keep the storage unit organized and inventoried
Keep office supplies in stock and inventoried
Work with technical staff to order new equipment when needed
Help keep the website current
Coordinate large mailings
Manage social media and digital marketing
Festival related duties:
Execute artist contracts and collect relevant paperwork
Book venues
Coordinate education and brown bag events
Book flights, hotels, ground transportation for the artistic director and the artists
Manage program production, together with the graphic designer
Coordinate marketing mailings
Order and manage merchandise for selling at the Festivals
Set up and manage ticketing
Track the number of people served
Gather meaningful feedback from audiences and participants
Other duties as assigned
