Education
While there are many programs that offer opportunities and instruction to a select number of youths in Juneau, JJ&C’s greatest contribution is its effort to provide a wide variety of opportunities for as many youths as possible. Through transportation to our free lunchtime concert series, a free family concert, school assemblies that reach entire schools, and free classroom appearances, JJ&C provides a valuable arts experience to youth who might never have those same opportunities outside of school hours. Each year we rotate the variety of genres through various schools so after six years of elementary school a student would have been introduced to each genre at least once, hopefully twice. Each middle school and high school band and orchestra receives at least one in-school clinic from our artists.
